In airsoft, the mainstay (and industry favourite) is the humble AEG. Battery powered replicas, offering superb value, and unmatched practicality. AEG stands for "Automatic Electric Gun", and it really is a case of "What it says on the Tin" - they have an internal gearbox, and motor, and when you pull the trigger the battery spins the motor, allowing the replica to fire. Granted, that doesn't sound terribly exciting, however in reality, it means every time you pull the trigger, your gun fires, and you can get an impressive rate of fire (more BB's down range faster).

Internally, most components of an AEG can be tweaked/upgraded, so you can tinker and customise your replica to suit how you play. Whether you want a faster rate of fire, more responsive trigger, or increase the range & accuracy, with an AEG the world is your oyster. Due to their mechanism, they are quieter than their gas/Co2 counterparts, so you can stay hidden for longer (or if shooting targets out the back, the sound is less likely to irritate the neighbours).

Snow Wolf are one of the most interesting manufacturers on the market - focusing on delivering interesting guns, whilst keeping the price affordable. They're one of the few companies producing WWII replicas, such as the PPSH, Kar98K, Thompson M1A1, ZB26, as well as more modern guns such as M4's, Dragunov SVD, Barrett .50 Cal Sniper Rifles, and the likes of the M1A1 Pulse Rifle from Aliens.

They are similar in quality to the likes of Jing Gong (JG) and Cyma, providing a great all-round experience. Both internals and externals are solid, and parts compatibility is high, affording you the chance to tweak and change as you see fit.

This replica features a faux wood-effect stock, complete with metal upper receiver, and best of all, this replica features electric blowback, adding to the realism.

Internally, this gearbox is proprietary in design (only found in the PPSH-41 models). Although compatible with a lot of parts aftermarket, there may be some modifications required (please consult a professional). That said, it's rare to get a WWII era rifle that performs this good out of the box!
