Upgrading the hop up rubber of your gun can have a drastic effect on your range and consistency; a soft hop up rubber will give you better lift, whilst a thicker hop up rubber will be more consistent. However, the most consistent you can get is a custom made R-Hop!

The R-Hop is a concept - you fit a contact patch over the full length of the barrel window, in some cases you will also extend the barrel window for best results. This patch is the area that contacts the BB. You then take a normal hop up rubber, e.g. the venerable G&G Green hop up and use that for the air seal (of course, you need to modify it first by removing the mound inside). This combination effectively transforms your gun into having a largely fixed hop up, with it set for heavier BB's.

You can of course apply more hop via the hop up chamber adjustment, however you cannot dial it back. Instead, this is done via BB weight. You will need to use a minimum of 0.28g BB's (and it is important to note that these travel slower than their lighter weight counterparts, however they will be more stable/consistent).
