Tokyo Marui SIG P226 E2
The SIG P226 is a pistol loved around the world for its simple utilitarian design; everything is where you'd expect it to be.
The P226 E2 has improved it further with a far more comfortable grip - the moment you hold it, the pistol sinks into your hand and you realise how truly bulky and awful many other guns are. In fact the only complaint I have about the P226 E2 is that it makes most other guns pale in comparison.
Manufactured by Tokyo Marui, this piece is constructed primarily out of high quality plastic. Don't let that sway you - it still feels weighty, and thanks to the build quality the slide has a beautiful snap action! As you'd expect from the Japanese giant, this pistol is powered by Green Gas (or 134a for those rare hot Irish summer days), and is quite economic on the gas again in thanks to the build material.
The magazine is a redesign; now rather than be split in half it is a one-piece body. No longer do you have the threads wearing out writing off your magazine! It also adds a nice heft to the gun, balancing it more in the hand! And this pistol is all about how it feels in the hand - the redesign of the grip makes it easier to actuate the decocker, magazine release button, and slide release lever. When manipulating the gun, you realise why people love SIG Sauer - it just makes sense. Instinctively you know where everything is, and it's a joy to use!
In airsoft terms the TM P226 E2 is a solid performer, with engraved trademarks which really add to the gun's appeal. You have the 20mm rail for the addition of lasers, lights, or whatever accessory takes your fancy!
