A good charger is a game changer.

Manufactured by Firepower, this charger is designed to work with virtually every battery type under the sun. Not only that, you have complete control over the charge cycle, and can monitor the battery health throughout. This makes it ideal for Lipos, as during a balance charge you can see the voltage difference between cells.

It has a maximum power of 80W, facilitating seriously fast charging (not recommended; we advise sticking to 1C charging i.e. divide the battery's capacity by 1,000 for the charge rate).

Operation of the charger is straight forward, however it can be confusing if you've been using the plug and play chargers. The LCD screen offers a selection of options - you have to first select the battery type, and then the operation i.e. charge, discharge, balance charge, storage etc. Make sure you have the right battery type selected (refer to the label on your battery), and set the charge current. Once ready, press and hold the start button, and press again to confirm. The charger will sound an alert once the cycle is completed.

Navigating the menus is simple thanks to the four positive buttons on the front face of the charger.
