AGM STG-44 (Metal & Real Wood), In airsoft, the mainstay (and industry favourite) is the humble AEG

In airsoft, the mainstay (and industry favourite) is the humble AEG. Battery powered replicas, offering superb value, and unmatched practicality. AEG stands for "Automatic Electric Gun", and it really is a case of "What it says on the Tin" - they have an internal gearbox, and motor, and when you pull the trigger the battery spins the motor, allowing the replica to fire. Granted, that doesn't sound terribly exciting, however in reality, it means every time you pull the trigger, your gun fires, and you can get an impressive rate of fire (more BB's down range faster).

Internally, most components of an AEG can be tweaked/upgraded, so you can tinker and customise your replica to suit how you play. Whether you want a faster rate of fire, more responsive trigger, or increase the range & accuracy, with an AEG the world is your oyster. Due to their mechanism, they are quieter than their gas/Co2 counterparts, so you can stay hidden for longer (or if shooting targets out the back, the sound is less likely to irritate the neighbours).

One of the oldest manufacturers in airsoft, AGM grew to fame in the early days due to their production of more unsual replicas, e.g. their WWII series. Producing the STEN, MP40, and STG44, they offered an interesting look at the world of airsoft, whilst everyone else was still just making M4 replicas. Based in China, AGM also developed their own range of clone products, delving into the world of GBBR's (based on Western Arms' system), but their main avenue has always been their more historical line.

The STG 44, also known as the MP44 is an iconic gun of the second World War. It is easily recognisable, and one of the staples of the German army. In airsoft terms this is one of the best guns available from the WWII period, as internally it uses a version two gearbox, allowing you to repair and customise to your hearts content - a great benefit for such an unusual gun.

This piece is a superb replica of the Schmeisser STG44, and is realistically weighted and finished. It is perfect as a collectors piece, or for a skirmisher interested in WWII events etc. As with all unusual guns, magazines are a little harder to come by, and as such it is better to reserve for use during specialised events, or as part of a collection.

Manufactured by AGM, this piece comes with everything you need - included are a basic battery and charger, and a basic sling. The battery & charger included will take anywhere between 3 and 5 hours to charge, though as always we would strongly recommend the use of an aftermarket battery & smart charger, as smart chargers will switch off automatically once the battery is full.

Installing the battery is simple - just undo the pin at the rear of the stock, slide the stock off and inser the stick type battery; connect it up and replace the stock! That's it. Always nice to have something a little easier in life!
