Silencers, or suppressors, are designed to modify the sound of a gun, and hide the muzzle flash. In airsoft, we don't have a muzzle flash, and most of the noise comes from further back, so they're generally considered more of an aesthetic choice than necessity. They can impact the overall noise profile of your gun, however it is a piece of the puzzle, rather than a catch-all solution. Generally, silencers are used to give your gun a more tactical look, for hiding an extended inner barrel, or for adding additional capability e.g. Tracer Units.

Silencers are compatible with most guns, provided they are threaded. Some will require an adapter, however most guns will be 14mm CCW (Counter Clock-wise). Choosing a silencer revolves around the overall look and style, and the length you require (e.g. if you're covering an extended inner barrel, choose one the correct length). For the best aesthetic, it is recommended to choose a length that is proportional to your gun e.g. longer silencers on longer guns, and not going too wide for slimline rifles/pistols etc. However, it is all personal preference, so we won't judge...much.

This silencer is 190mm, constructed out of metal, and is 14mm CCW (counter clockwise). It is important to make sure you're screwing the silencer onto your rifle in the right direction as otherwise you can destroy the threads on both your gun, and the silencer.
