Eye protection is the only prerequisite for playing airsoft - it is absolutely essential and is the only base requirement to participate. No site will allow you to play unless you have some form of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for your eyes, whereas they will allow you to run around without a gun...although that just wouldn't be any fun. Good eye protection is the difference between having a good day, or having a very bad day. You can get goggles and glasses in different configurations, in various shapes and sizes and to varying degrees of protection.

The most important thing is that you get something that fits your head snugly, offers sufficient protection and that you're comfortable. Beyond that it's simply about choosing lens type (solid lens or mesh). Some people prefer mesh eye protection due to the fact it cannot fog/mist up, whereas others prefer the solid lens because there is no visual obstruction and light passes through much easier.

These Mesh glasses are superb - lightweight frame, solid steel mesh lenses for superior protection, elasticated strap to keep the glasses tight to your head, and foam around the frame to create a full seal. This gives fantastic protection, ensuring that BB's can't bounce around between your eye protection!

The benefit of using mesh glasses is of course that no matter how hot it gets, or how much you perspire...the lenses cannot fog/mist up, keeping you in the game for longer. The trade off is that it takes a while to get used to, as in changing light conditions sometimes it can be difficult to adjust. Mesh lenses are by far the most plug-and-play glasses out there; no need for anti-fog solutions, and are suitable for virtually all conditions.

As these only protect your eyes, we would strongly recommend pairing these with a lower mesh mask, or neoprene lower mask to protect your teeth and lower face.
