Sniper rifles are one of the coolest weapon types around, and are incredibly popular thanks to their use in film, TV, and of course, video games. A mainstay due to their accuracy and performance, although the trade off is fewer rounds, and slow fire rate. But this is airsoft, and since it's predominantly about looks, we can leave practicality at the door.

An airsoft sniper rifle will shoot the same distance as an assault rifle, however it is typically quieter, more consistent, and most important of all, it's a sniper rifle. That may sound redundant, however the overall look of what you choose to use is key. Internally they are all much the same - you have a sear that latches the piston, and you're doing the majority of work with the bolt action (pulling the bolt to the rear cocks the piston, and pushing it forward loads a BB). The Novritsch SSG96 is an L96 Bolt Action Rifle replica - supreme durability, excellent accuracy, and rock solid performance. Iconic design, with the thumb-hole stock, the L96 grew into popularity thanks to its inclusion in seminal games e.g. Call of Duty, Counter Strike, etc. In the real steel world it was one of the very first instances of a purpose-built sniper rifle from the ground up (rather than the traditional method of taking an existing rifle and modifying/smithing it for improved performance/accuracy.

Manufactured by Novritsch, the SSG96 has a CNC machined upper receiver, and custom-designed intuitive fast-access hop up adjustment. Simply slide the cover out of the way to reveal the wheel-based hop. Its numbered motif makes it easier to dial in your shots, and unlock the supreme sniper within.

The lower receiver has a side-folding stock, ideal for transport/storage, allowing you to cut its size down drastically. It also has another distinct advantage since it allows you to remove the bolt, giving access to the spring/piston/air nozzle with impressive speed.

Ergonomically, you have an adjustable cheekpiece for improved comfort when aiming and shooting. You can also adjust the stock buttpad thanks to the removable spacers. But that's not where it ends; you can swap the bolt to be used on the left hand side, giving you proper ambidexterity.

There are some beautiful features of this replica - you have a fluted outer barrel, with the motif carried through onto the cylinder. Quality of life improvements are provided via external indicators - firing pin indicator shows you when the rifle is cocked and ready to fire, and an empty magazine detector lets you know when its time to reload.
