In airsoft, the mainstay (and industry favourite) is the humble AEG. Battery powered replicas, offering superb value, and unmatched practicality. AEG stands for "Automatic Electric Gun", and it really is a case of "What it says on the Tin" - they have an internal gearbox, and motor, and when you pull the trigger the battery spins the motor, allowing the replica to fire. The EDGE 2.0 E-23 is a full length M4 Carbine, complete with M-LOK handguard, constructed out of metal. Straight away when you pick this up you'll notice how weighty and solid it feels, and thanks to the scratch resistant nano coating, it looks sublime (and is extremely durable). The E-23 has deeply cut Specna Arms trademarks, and a virtually uninterrupted top rail for scopes/sights (you can run almost any optics setup you can dream).

Customisation is straightforward thanks to the M-LOK handguard - you can add rail adapters or accessories with ease, and it even includes an M-LOK vertical grip. The pistol grip is a smooth ergonomic design, housing a neodymium magnet high torque motor for improved trigger response, and faster rate of fire. However, the real secret is deeper - the EDGE 2.0 Orion V2 gearbox. It is a reinforced metal shell, with 8mm bearings, steel gears, aluminium air seal components, steel tooth piston, quick spring change system, and factory fitted GATE ASTER trigger system complete with speed trigger. The GATE ASTER does away with trigger contacts and microswitches, using optical sensors instead - this gives you greater capability, as it offers you superior control (e.g. trigger sensitivity, rate of fire, fire modes etc). Further up the chain you have a tightbore barrel with helium flat hop, and rotary hop up chamber, giving greater range, excellent consistency, and greater granular control.
